My first thought upon waking up this morning was, "Kebabs have 2,000 calories."
They did a study a while back, looking at the nutritional info of kebabs, and that's the headline I remembered. Given that I actually had meat and chips (no redeeming vegetables), who knows how bad the caloric total really was?
Hence why my second thought was, "Spin class starts at 10 AM". Admittedly my head was somewhat sore (that last pint really should have been a water), but given that I'd stayed within my normal bounds, it was nothing that could even remotely qualify as a hangover, just a little bit of dehydration. (At least that's what I kept telling myself). Hence I really just couldn't afford to have any mercy on myself, even if I'd only gotten 6 hours of sleep. So I dragged myself up and out to the gym, slugging a water bottle the entire way.
Spin class was taught by a different instructor than I normally have on Mondays, and I must say I found her somewhat hard to understand. I mostly just followed along with whateverbody else was doing, I have no idea what the instructions were. Still, it was as good a workout as usual, as according to my heart-rate monitor, I burned 577 calories in 48 minutes. Only 1,433 to go!
I came home, quite proud of myself and feeling like I'd accomplished enough for the day, when my flatmate said to me, "Don't you normally go to yoga class on Sunday afternoons?"
You have GOT to be kidding me. Seriously? I just finished a spin class, now you want me to do 1.5 hours of yoga too?
Hence after having only been home for an hour, I found myself dragging my sorry arse back to the gym, for a very long yoga class. I swore to my flatmate that I was probably going to die before it was all over, but I have to admit she had a point: I did feel very good at the end. Exhausted, but with no reminants of a hangover, and quite proud of myself!
