I tried to do as little as possible today, because my nose was still running and my throat was still sore. Although I definitely wanted to yell at my body, "We can't be sick now!! There's too much to do this week!!"
In the evening though, I still felt obligated to go out for the Tuesday run. I was so late leaving the house, that I was sure I would miss everyone setting off, but amazingly I made it to the pub in plenty of time.
So I put my bags downstairs with everyone else, and set out on the run. I amazingly did an okay job of keeping up with everyone, but at a certain point I was really flagging. My nose was running, my throat was sore, and I just didn't feel like running anymore. So I actually left the group, saw we were near King's Cross, and figured that there would be a Boots inside of St. Pancras station.
I found the store (with a little help from the touch-screen station directories) and then stood in line, explained how rotten I was feeling to the pharmacist, and got some meds for my nose, some gargling solution for my throat, and a packet of tissues.
I of course expected at this point that I was so far off the trail that I would simply have to make my own way back to the pub, so you can imagine my surprise when I exited the store....to find the entire pack running right by me! They'd taken a detour through the station, so in all of my wandering off-trail, I'd actually found it again!!
So I grabbed my bag and ran after everyone else, and luckily before too long we were back at the pub.
I stayed around for a bit chatting to Marjanne and a few others, drinking only water, and thought about just heading straight home and getting some rest. But somehow I was persuaded to stay around for the final circle, which didn't seem to have much point. I really should have gone home sooner.
But at the end, I found myself chatting to Kitty for a bit about the silly boy, and then getting annoyed with myself as I realise I need to stop talking and obsessing about this boy, and just let things happen as they will. So easy to tell yourself, but it's so hard to remember to not be a silly girl and obsess about things. Need to just let things happen, however they will happen...
