Despite the amount of champagne, wine and port I had consumed the night before, I woke up with a clear head, although still with a throbbing pain in my jaw. Once again, although I was disappointed to have missed out on things with JG, I suppose it really was for the best, as I would have been miserable company this morning.
Still, I didn't have much time to moan about my miserable state, as I had previously promised the Friend of a Friend who lives down the street from me that I would meet her for lunch and take her on a walking tour of our neighbourhood today.
So at 12:30, I dutifully showed up at our designated meeting spot halfway between our respective flats, and then took her around our little neighbourhood, pointing out pubs and shops and doing my best to be a good tour guide, even as my mouth was killing me.
We walked through Holland Park (my favourite place), and then I took her out to the Windsor Castle (a favourite pub of mine), but it was so crowded that there was no chance we could get a seat. So then we walked down to the Churchill Arms in Notting Hill, where we were able to sit and have Thai food for lunch. Good times, although with every bite my tooth was KILLING me. Seriously, despite all of the aspirin I was taking, the pain was unreal.
Somehow I finished the torture that was lunch, and although I felt a bit bad, cut our afternoon short so I could return home and take more painkillers and try my best to perhaps get some rest and knock myself out from the pain. I couldn't believe how bad this was getting, as I tried my best to ice my jaw, take more painkillers, and just desperately hope that I might pass out. I googled "Emergency Dentists", but it turns out that most "emergency" dentists in London are open Monday thru Friday. How ridiculous is that?
So I looked up the number of the dentist I have not seen in almost three years now, put it by my phone, and started counting down the hours until I could call when they opened at 9 AM...
