Yet despite that bad move, I still went out to the hash in the evening. We were running near Angel, and given that I got lost on my way to the pub, I arrived a bit late, but people were still standing outside, getting ready to run. Sweetheart was standing outside when I got there, and wrapped me up in a hug with a kiss on the lips. Given that I'm still recovering from a cold, I would have resisted kissing him if I could have, but he was too quick about it for me to protest. Oh well, it's always nice to be kissed, and if he gets sick it's his fault. (Mr Moore, a good friend, was also there, and I do wonder what he thought about our overly friendly greeting, but he didn't comment on it).
The run was starting soon, but my nose wouldn't stop running, so I ran inside to get some toilet paper from the loo to blow my nose with. Set off on the run with everyone else (and my "tissues") and even managed to keep up for about the first 25 minutes, but then I got stuck on the long way around of a trail (instead of a shortcut), so I decided that was enough, and walked back to the pub, taking a call from the Tall South African on the way.
When I was also back to the pub, I ran into an older hasher, Kemosabe. Realising that we were returning much before everyone else, he dragged me into a quiet pub down the road from the one we had met in (complete with real fire!) and bought me a pint. We sat there chatting, and were even later joined by a few other early-returning hashers. Normally he wouldn't be the type I would chat to, but given that he was my only company, we had a nice conversation.
Then back at the pub I got dragged into conversation with a few other people, before finally getting a chance to talk to Caroline, which was pretty much the entire reason I had come out this evening! I talked to her a bit about Qatari Boy, given that he is a friend of hers, and she asked me a lot about the Tall South African. I tried to get her to objectively think about the whole situation, and not dump any potential guys she has on the go prematurely, before she knows where the whole thing is going with the Tall South African. Still, I'm not sure anything I said made any impact, she's pretty far gone...
At last, it seemed like a good time to head back, so I walked back to the pub with a few others. Still haven't managed the whole run yet, but getting there, bit-by-bit...
