After staying up too late talking to the Tall South African on his journey home the night before, I had to get up early in the morning to go to physio. Good yet tough session, which helped me work out the kinks from reeling the night before.
I didn't get a call from the Tall South African at lunchtime, but at 2pm I got a text: "How's your day going? Missing me?"
That made me laugh, because in truth, I was. So we spent much of the rest of the afternoon texting back-and-forth, and he raised my eyebrows with the comment, "I'm going to see where I can push my finances an if I could push hard enough to move down.... How cool would that be? We could do slumber parties all the time!!"
He's suggested we move in together before, an idea which I think would be terrible (living with the Young Dutchman last year taught me the dangers of living with a guy you like who you're not sleeping with, as it makes it hard for other prospects to compete). But I find it funny that he's so keen to spend time with me, staying up late and chatting!
Finally he did call after work, to just ramble on and on for a while about his confused feelings when it comes to Caroline. Although amidst all of this, I had to think, "While I'm providing a great sounding board for you, you're not really doing the same for me." I sort of wish at some point all of these boys in my life, who love and care for me so much, would figure out why on earth I'm still single!
I then got a call from the Young Dutchman shortly afterwards, but it was pretty brief and to the point: He'd gotten his official job offer at Google (something about a Level 3, which I didn't understand, but seemed to make him glad he wasn't starting at the level of a recent college grad, but also if I picked up on the tone of his voice, was perhaps a bit less than he'd been expecting). And then he wanted to talk to me about a dinner he's organising for Kellogg Boy's birthday on Wednesday. I promised I would come after my committee meeting, and then he started running through names of people with me to invite. It was a short list, with me being the only girl on it, but with such a small group, that seemed fine.
Except the Young Dutchman seemed insistent on the idea that I would need another girl to talk to about hair and make-up with. What? Does he even know me?
And it was irritating, how he kept suggesting we invite people that I don't think Kellogg Boy actually knows that well, just to invite another girl. I absolutely kept trying to insist that he give up on this idea, or at least invite a girl that Kellogg Boy actually knows. He then wanted to invite Lotte (why?), which was an idea I would only countenance if we could leave her fiancée at home.
I don't know, I was irked. I feel like he never has time to talk to me any more (fine, because the Tall South African picks up the slack, and I know he's been busy with work), but then even when he does talk to me, he doesn't actually even have time to listen.
Fine, whatever, I will sit and make polite conversation with whatever girl he sticks me with, but I was still annoyed. Remind me never to let the Young Dutchman organise a party for me, I'm sure he'd invite a bunch of people I don't know and leave off half of my real friends!
