What is it about snow? When it rains, nobody ever runs to the window to shout, "It's raining!", but when the water comes down from the sky in little frozen flakes, rather than simple water droplets, it inspires almost magical awe and wonder. I always remember in school, there was always the first kid who would be looking out the window, and shout out to the entire class, "It's snowing!" And that was an indulgence that even the teacher would allow, as everyone rushed to the window to watch the dancing, floating flakes fall from the sky.
In the end, it was only a dusting of snow, but it gave London a magical look for a few hours. I'd big good-bye to Tim that morning, and then spent the afternoon on conference calls with the snow behind me out the window. Sometimes it just makes your day, to be sitting inside curled up on a snow day.
