Not much happened today, except that today was the 14th of March. Sometimes known as the Ides of March (although that's generally the 15th), sometimes "Steak and BJ Day" (as a response to the romantic cheese of Valentine's Day the previous month), but my favourite is Pi Day. Because in the US dating system, by placing the month first before the date, instead of it being 14/3, it's 3.14, or Pi.
I hadn't heard from the Tall South African in a few days, and so used this totally pointless reason as an excuse to get in touch, to inform him of the holiday, and muse if it was only an American holiday due to the US dating system.
I wondered if it perhaps was stupid, but was rewarded after work with a call from him, laughing that it had taken him ages to figure out what I was on about, but once he had he thought it quite clever and hilarious. So that was my amusing little pick-me-up for the day!
