I woke up on the plane, to realise that I'd been dreaming that I'd been in a plane crash. Obviously you can see what my subconcious is thinking about when I'm flying? At least in the dream, I hadn't been injured, although it was a bit surreal to think I was on the ground having been in a crashed plane, to wake up and realise I was still in the air. (Much like dreaming that you woke up and got dressed and ready for the day, only to actually wake up and find that you're still in bed).
The landing was a bit spooky, in that we landed in such heavy fog we were actually on the ground and landed, and I still couldn't see the runway. As we taxied through the fog, planes would sometimes appear out of the mist, and I sort of wondered how the pilots didn't crash into each other.
Got off the plane, went through IRIS, and got home pretty quickly. I stopped off in Hammersmith to pick up some groceries (as I wasn't sure I had any food at home), and then got back to the flat. Did the usual checking of e-mail, and was surprised when DM popped up on FB chat, just saying hi and welcoming me back to London. We chatted for about 20 minutes, and I was once again left wondering what the deal is with DM. Although when I think about it, he probably thinks of me exactly the same way I think of him: Nice guy who I genuinely like, but I wonder if I have enough in common with to sustain a relationship with. So I suppose the easy friendship works just fine...
He finished off our conversation with "ok i'm late for work, i'll appear randomly somewhere like i usually do!" which made me laugh. I then stayed up and did some work, although at around noon I caught myself falling asleep on the couch, so I set my alarm and crawled into bed for an hour's rest. But too soon it was time to get up again, and finish out the work day. It was easily 7 PM by the time I finished the last call (and my attention was wandering), so there was no chance I was going to make it to the hash. Not like I would have wanted to go, with my cold that I'd developed on the plane, and it just generally being freezing out.
So I just spent an evening at home, trying to cook dinner and get things done, and making polite conversation with my flatmate. I haven't really settled in with her quite yet, although I suppose as time goes on, that will get better. Still, by around 10 PM I'd stayed awake as long as I could, and was happy to head off to bed!
