Back in London to the New Flat

I was vaguely aware of the flight attendants coming around with breakfast in the morning, but I really just couldn't be bothered. The breakfast on American Airlines just isn't worth the trouble.

When we landed, I raced through customs (how I love IRIS!) and checked my phone. I'd received not a single call whilst I'd been gone.

Since I'd walked out of the old flat and left my keys behind me, this was the first time I was returning to the new flat. When I arrived, my new flatmate wasn't even up yet, so I just picked my way among the piles of boxes, made my bed, and fell into it to sleep for a bit, I was exhausted!

I'd originally been thinking about going into the office, as one of the things I knew from the time whilst I'd been gone was that the new Wi-Fi wasn't set up yet. But when I got up, I realised my flatmate had left out the login info for the landlord's Wi-Fi (he lives below us), so managed to just stay at home for the day.

Which was particularly great, as it turns out the woman who wanted to talk to me about that job of course wanted to talk today. We had a nice chat, and I felt like we got on well, and the job sounded interesting. I can only hope that I made some sense as I was still obviously quite tired from the flight.

My new flatmate came home briefly in the evening, and since I had no food in the house, I went out to do some grocery shopping. I went for frozen pizza for dinner, but sometimes that's really what you need.

Since it was Guy Fawkes Night, fireworks were going off everywhere in London, and I realised an advantage of my new top-floor flat is that I had a spectacular view of fireworks going off in multiple places. It seemed like a waste to go to sleep with so much going on, but after I'd managed to answer a few e-mails from my Uncle Don about surveying, I just fell into bed by 8 PM. It was time for some sleep!
