This afternoon I had made plans to join my friend Sara (who I hadn't seen in a little while) and another friend of hers to go see an exhibit of the photographs of E. O. Hoppe at the National Portrait Gallery.
Her friend had gotten the tickets for free as part of her work at JP Morgan, so we went and had a nice cultural afternoon, wandering around the museum. Nice photographs, although I have to say that his later work was much more interesting than his earlier work, where the improvements in photographic technology really became apparent.
After wandering the exhibit for an hour, we went to lunch at a place where Sara had made a reservation. Good food, but I was totally shocked at the price... The meal came to £45 each, much more than I would pay for a much better meal at my club! I like these cultural afternoons with Sara, but I'm definitely not quite in her price range yet for what she feels is normal.
I had to dash from lunch early however, as I was due to meet an estate agent at 4:30 PM to see a flat I'd been interested in online. So you can imagine my frustration after leaving lunch early, to find that the estate agent didn't even bother to show up! Ah well, so begins my exciting search for somewhere new to live...
